• CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />MINUTES <br />August 10, 2005 <br />Mayor Gehrz convened the regular City Council meeting at 7:00 PM. <br />PRESENT: Mayor Sue Gehrz, Council members Robert Lamb, <br />Peter Lindstrom, and Laura Kuettel <br />Also present: City Administrator Heather Worthington <br />COMMUNITY FORUM: There was no commentary from the audience. <br />PRESENTATIONS: <br />Kay Andrews from Northwest Youth and Family Services (NYFS) and MarySue Hansen from <br />the Suburban Ramsey Family Collaborative (SRFC) gave presentations on their respective <br />programs. Ms. Andrews gave an update on the program status of NYFS, and the use of their <br />programs by Falcon Heights residents. As of June 30, approximately one-half of the city's <br />cooperative service agreement has been utilized. She also mentioned that the St. Anthony Police <br />• Department has been working very closely with NYFS to divert youth offenders into their <br />programs. Ms. Andrews estimated that they had a less than 20% recidivism rate for youth <br />offenders. She also invited the Council and Mayor to upcoming fundraising events this fall, <br />including the Fall Harvest Gala at Midland Hills Country Club on October 29, and the re- <br />opening celebration of Penny Pinchers, the NYFS thrift store, in Mounds View on September 8 <br />from 4-8 p.m. <br />Ms. Hansen presented "Investing in Youth", a publication sponsored by the SRFC and their <br />partners, to each council member. She reported that SRFC will likely lose their funding next <br />year due to state and federal grant cuts. She thanked the Council and Mayor Gehrz for their <br />leadership around youth issues, and encouraged them to remain involved. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: <br />The July 27, 2005 minutes were approved as amended by Councilmember Lindstrom, a <br />correction being made regarding his comments about the upcoming Ice Cream Social. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: None <br />CONSENT AGENDA: <br />Kuettel moved approval of the Consent Agenda, as outlined below: <br />L~ <br />
