• <br />• <br />CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES <br />November 9, 2005 <br />Mayor Gehrz convened the regular City Council meeting at 7:00 PM. <br />PRESENT: Mayor Sue Gehrz, Council members Laura Kuettel, Robert Lamb, <br />Peter Lindstrom and Richard Talbot. Also present: City Administrator Heather Worthington, <br />Deputy Clerk Stacey Kreuser, Attorneys Martin Costello, Katrina Joseph, and Russ Platzik. <br />COMMUNITY FORUM: Bryan Olson, 1592 Roselawn, addressed the council with questions <br />on the upcoming Grand Opening of the Town Square building at Snelling and Larpenteur. <br />John Hustad, former Falcon Heights city .councilmember, gave congratulations to the city on a <br />well-run election. <br />PRESENTATIONS: Falcon Heights prosecuting attorney firm Hughes and Costello presented <br />legislative changes and judicial decisions made during the 2005 session. Katrina Joseph <br />presented case law changes, while Russ Platzik gave statutory updates. <br />Mayor Gehrz asked for council approval to make an addendum to the agenda. Council approval <br />of an invitation for Mayor Gehrz to attend the U of M football game became consent item G5. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES: The minutes dated 10/26/05 were approved. <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS: None scheduled. <br />CONSENT AGENDA: <br />Kuettel moved to approve the following items on <br />unanimously approved: <br />4. General Disbursements through 11 /04/05: <br />Payroll 10/16/05 -10/31/05 <br />the consent agenda, and the motion was <br />$32,911.59 <br />$12, 828.20 <br />5. Approval of Mechanical Contractor's Licenses for T&E Mechanical Services and <br />Comfort Plus <br />6. Certification of election results from the 11-08-OS general election <br />7. Approval of Christmas Tree Sales Licenses for Forestry Club, Ltd (U of M) and <br />Falcon Heights/Lauderdale Lions Club <br />8. Approval of invitation to U of M football game for Mayor Gehrz <br />C <br />POLICY AGENDA: <br />1. Elected official out-of--state travel policy <br />Gehrz introduced the item by stating that it is rare that any elected officials travel out-of-state, <br />however requirements by the legislature are cause for passing of this policy. <br />Administrator Worthington added the model was given out by the League of Minnesota Cities, <br />and would serve as an adjunct to the Falcon Heights policy already in place. <br />councilmember Lamb requested that the council strike all provisions that were not necessary in <br />the policy, adding that the bulleted provisions were all common sense. <br />~CHG02:40069922.v1 ~9/28/OS 11:33 AM <br />2 <br />
