A gross area of the main floor of a <br />residential building measured in square feet and not <br />including an attached garage, breezeway, or similar <br />attachment. <br />~r~ Floor Area Gross. The sum of the gross area of <br />the various floors of a building measured in square <br />feet. The basement floor area shall not be included <br />unless such area constitutes a story. <br />70. Floor Area Ratio. The numerical value obtained <br />through dividing the gross floor area of a building or <br />buildings by the net area of the lot or parcel of land <br />on which such building or buildings are located. <br />71. Floor Plan-General. A graphic representation of <br />the anticipated use of the floor area within a building <br />or structure. <br />72. Footing. Foundation below frost line as <br />prescribed by the Building Code. <br />73. Frontage. That boundary of a lot which abuts a <br />• public street or private road. <br />74. Garage-Private. A detached one story accessory <br />building or portion of the principal building, <br />including a carport, which is used primarily for the <br />storing of passenger vehicles, trailers, recreational <br />vehicles or farm trucks. <br />75. Garage-Public. A building or portion of a <br />building, where vehicles are kept for remuneration or <br />hire and in which any sale of gasoline, oil, and <br />accessories is only incidental to the principal use. <br />76. Governing Body. City Council of the City of <br />Falcon Heights. <br />• 78. Hotel. A building having provision for nine (9) <br />or more guests in which lodging is provided with or <br />without meals, for compensation, and which is open to <br />transient or permanent guests or both, and where no <br />12 <br />~- Home Occupation. Any gainful occupation or <br />profession engaged in by the occupant only of a <br />dwelling and carried on within a dwelling unit and not <br />in any accessory building. <br />
