• <br />Meeting Date: 5/18/92 <br />Agenda Item: 7 <br />ITEM: Revisions of parking requirements in the University <br />Grove Neighborhood <br />SUBMITTED BY: The University Grove Homeowner's Association <br />REVIEWED BY: Susan Hoyt, City administrator acting as planner <br />EXPLANATION/DESCRIPTION: <br />Background: <br />When staff met with the police and residents about residential <br />permit parking, staff recommended that the Grove Association <br />request any changes necessary for better parking control and <br />. consistency throughout the neighborhood. The neighborhood's <br />request is attached (A). <br />Recommendation: <br />The staff makes the following recommendations that reflect this <br />request and additional considerations: <br />1. Change the two-hour parking on Folwell east of Coffman <br />from two hour parking to one hour parking due to the <br />substantial increase in non-resident parking on this <br />portion of Folwell after the signs were changed to two <br />hour parking almost two years ago. (Verified by staff <br />observation.) <br />2. Change all day parking to one hour parking on Hoyt east <br />of Folwell adjacent to tennis courts to coordinate with <br />the tennis court user's time limit and eliminate all <br />day parking. <br />3. Make signs read as simply and consistently as possible <br />which requires: <br />- replacing all two hour parking signs with signs <br />that read " TWO HOUR PARKING WEEKDAYS 8 AM TO 4 PM <br />• OR BY PERMIT" (if permit parking is approved) <br />because currently the north-south residential <br />streets do not limit the two hour parking to <br />
