2. (GENERAL DEVELOPMENT) To restrict developments
throughout the City to three stories or 35 feet in
height.
Commissioners inquired about the value of this policy
given some of the proposals for developments on the
southeast corner which included five stories. Mr.
Hoisinc~ton responded that the only section in the City
that might accommodate a taller than three story
building is the southeast corner of Larpenteur and
Snelling since retaining the small town, low density
appearance of the community is desirable. He explained
that if a proposal came forward, the height limit would
provide negotiating leverage with developers and, if
desirable, the policy could be amended for this specific
site. However, the specific policy could also be
excluded, if Commissioners felt it would be too
restrictive and phrased less specifically.
Please raise other plan elements and policies that need
clarification and direction from the Commission.
•

3
