r <br />which the sale takes place, or by friends of such occupant, <br />and where the sale is conducted by such occupant or friends. <br />Items for sale shall not have been purchased for resale or <br />• received on consignment for the purpose of resale. <br />133 Sale - Residential Boutique <br />A residential boutique sale is the sale of handcrafted items <br />conducted on residential premises, where the items sold are <br />made by the occupant of the premises at which the sale takes <br />place, or by friends of such occupant, and where the sale is <br />conducted by said occupant or friends of such occupant. <br />Items for sale shall be made in the home and not purchased <br />for resale from any retail or wholesale business source nor <br />received on consignment for the purpose of resale. <br />The commission felt in 9-4.01 the phrase, "limited to ONE <br />calendar year" was too restrictive. A suggestion was made to <br />amend it to read: <br />9-4.01 Subdivision 3 Permitted Accessory Uses <br />(1) Garage and residential boutique sales limited to two sales <br />each calendar year per residential unit, not to exceed ten <br />consecutive days or two consecutive weekends. <br />A motion was made and seconded to accept 9-1.02 132 and 133 as <br />written and 9-4.01 as amended. A public hearing will be <br />scheduled for November 26, 1990. <br />• REPORT ON THE CITY COUNCIL POLICY REVIEW OF SECTION 9-14.01 <br />SUBDIVISION (B)(D) AND (E) OF THE ZONING CODE REGARDING REAR AND <br />SIDE YARD SCREENING BETWEEN BUSINESS AND RESIDENTIAL ZONES. <br />Planner Hoyt explained the city council will be discussing the <br />policy of retroactive screening of businesses included in section <br />9-14.01, subd. 5(b)(d)(e) of the zoning code and will provide <br />direction on this issue. <br />PLANNING WORKSHOPS <br />Two planning workshops (The Basics and Beyond the Basics) are <br />available to learn more about decision-making and laws governing <br />planning commissions. <br />Members of the council were requested to let Susan or Dee know if <br />they would like to attend one.
