When the Building Inspector <br />determines that the value of the improvement exceeds X1,000 <br />• and a plan or other data is required to be submitted by the <br />Building Code, a plan checking fee shall be paid to the <br />Clerk's Office at the time of submitting plans or other <br />data. The plan checking fee shall equal 65 percent of the <br />building permit fees. <br />Where plans are incomplete, or changed so as to require <br />additional plan checking, an additional plan check fee shall <br />be charged at a rate established by the Building Inspector. <br />~4_(d). Expiration of Plan Cheek. The plan check becomes <br />null and void if the work or construction authorized is not <br />commenced within 120 days or such work or construction is <br />commenced but then abandoned for a period of 120 days or <br />more. In order to renew application after expiration, the <br />applicant shall resubmit plans and pay a new plan-check fee. <br />304(e). Allocation of Building Permit Fees. The Building <br />Inspector shall be paid as his fee for services rendered 25 <br />percent of any plan checking fee. The Fire Department shall <br />be reimbursed for all actual time involved with plan checking <br />not to exceed 25 percent of any plan checking fee. Any <br />portion of the 25 percent not expended by the Fire Department <br />shall be credited to the Fire Department Capital Improvement <br />Fund. The remaining portion of the permit/plan check fees <br />• shall be retained by the City. <br />~04(f). Determination of Value. The determination of value <br />under any provision of the Building Code shall be made by the <br />Building Inspector. <br />304(8). Doubled Fees. Where work for which a permit is <br />required is commenced prior to obtaining a permit, the above <br />specified fees shall be doubled, but the payment of such <br />double fee shall not relieve any persons from fully complying <br />with the requirements of this ordinance in the execution of <br />the work nor from any penalties prescribed herein. <br />Subdivision 3. Automatic Fire Suppression Systems. The proposed <br />optional Appendix E to the State Building Code entitled "Automatic Air <br />Suppression Systems" is included in the building code of the City. <br />PART 3.
