CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Regular Meeting of the City <br />Council of the City of Falcon Heights, Minnesota was held on the 26th day of <br />August, 1981. <br />The following members were present: Mayor Warkentien, Councilmembers <br />Steele, Eggert and Larson, and the following were absent: Councilmember <br />Brown. Mayor Warkentien introduced the following resolution and moved <br />its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION 81-11 <br />INVITATION TO NEGOTIATE <br />WHEREAS:, the City of Falcon Heights ("City") is considering the sale of <br />its present City Hall,. located at 1644 West Larpenteur Avenue, Falcon Heights, <br />Minnesota 55113, contingent upon the possible construction of a new City Hall <br />at a yet to be determined location within the City for occupancy the date of <br />which cannot yet be determined; <br />WHEREAS, the construction of a new City Hall is conditioned upon receipt <br />of adequate monies from the sale of the present City Hall; and <br />WHEREAS, although the City is not required under the law to advertise its <br />intent to negotiate for the possible sale of its present City Hall with all <br />interested parties, the City Council deems it to be in the best interests of <br />the City and its citizens to do so; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Falcon <br />Heights as follows: <br />1. Subject to all the terms of this Resolution (including its Recitals), <br />the City hereby gives notice of the possible sale of its present City Hall, located <br />in Ramsey County, Minnesota and legally described as follows: <br />The West 150 feet of the East 160 feet of the <br />North 283 feet of the Northwesterly Quarter of <br />the Northeasterly Quarter of the Northeasterly <br />Quarter, of Section :21, Township 29, Range 23, <br />subject to .roadways, easements, restrictions, <br />covenants, reservations and conditions of record, <br />and of its intention to negotiate with interested. parties for the sale of the <br />above described premises. <br />2. The City hereby requests all interested parties to submit proposals <br />in writing for the purchase of the above described premises to the City Clerk/ <br />Administrator by Noon on October 1, , 1981, setting forth the proposed <br />purchase price, financing plan, desired occupancy date, planned use of-the premi- <br />ses and any other terms said interested parties deem to be relevant. No proposal <br />will be considered unless it is accompanied by a nonrefundable certified check <br />or cashier's check in the amount of 5% of the bid payable to the City as <br />evidence of the proposed purchaser's good faith in negotiations. <br />3. The City, at its sole option, reserves the right for any reason <br />(1) to accept any proposal without further negotiations, (2) to negotiate further <br />with any or all of interested parties submitting proposals, (3) to accept and/or <br />negotiate further with any party submitting a proposal after October 1 <br />1981, (4) to reject any and all proposals, (5) to refrain from further negotiations <br />
