steam tables, shall not be directly connected to the sewer. <br />SECTION 18 - TOILET FACILITIES <br />Section 18.1 Toilet Facilities. Every food <br />establishment with the exception of food vehicles shall be <br />provided with conveniently located and approved water flush <br />toilet facilities which are kept clean and in good repair and <br />free from flies, insects, and offensive odors. Toilet fixtures <br />and seats shall be of sanitary design and readily cleanable. <br />The doors of all toilet rooms shall be self-closing. Easily <br />cleanable receptacles shall be provided for waste materials. <br />When toilet facilities are provided for patrons, such faci- <br />lities shall meet the requirements of this item. <br />SECTION 19 - LAVATORY FACILITIES <br />Section 19.1 Lavatory - Required Equipment. Every <br />food establishment, other than Itinerant food establishments <br />and food vehicles handling only prepackaged food or which <br />transport meat in the manner provided by state law or regulation, <br />• mall be provided with adequate, conveniently located, and <br />approved lavatory facilities with hot and cold running <br />water, hand cleansing compound, and sanitary towels or hand- <br />drying devices, provided, that, in all new, or extensively <br />altered food establishments, handwashing facilities shall be <br />provided within all areas where food is prepared. <br />SECTION 20 - GARBAGE AND REFUSE DISPOSAL <br />Section 20.1 Garbage and Refuse Disposal. All <br />garbage and refuse shall, prior to disposal, be kept in tight <br />non-absorbent containers which shall be kept covered with close- <br />fitting lids when filled, in storage, or not in continuous <br />use, provided, that such containers need not be covered when <br />stored in special insect and rodent-proofed room or enclosure <br />or food waste refrigerator. All other refuse shall be stored <br />in containers, rooms, or areas in an approved manner. The <br />rooms, enclosures, areas, and containers used should be <br />adequate for the storage of all garbage .and refuse accumulat- <br />ing on the premises. Adequate cleaning facilities shall be <br />provided, and each container, room, or area shall be thor- <br />oughly cleaned after the emptying or removal of garbage and <br />refuse. Food waste grinders, when installed, shall comply <br />with the plumbing ordinance. All garbage and refuse shall be <br />disposed of with sufficient frequency and in such a manner <br />as to prevent a nuisance. <br />- 18 - <br />
