RESOLUTION 2004-11A <br />• <br />JOINT RESOLUTION <br />RAMSEY COUNTY AND THE CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />PROVIDING FOR THE IMPROVEMENT AND RECLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN <br />COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAYS LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF FALCON <br />HEIGHTS <br />This Agreement is made pursuant to the authority of Minnesota Statutes § 471.59, by and <br />between the City of Falcon Heights and the County of Ramsey, municipal corporations under the <br />laws of Minnesota (hereinafter referred to as "City" and "County" respectively. <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, The 1991 Minnesota Legislature established a Ramsey County Local <br />• Government Services Study Commission to "report on the advantages and disadvantages of <br />sharing, cooperating, restructuring, or consolidating..." activities in areas of public service <br />including public works; and; <br />WHEREAS, The consolidation plan provides for reclassification of roadways and <br />corresponding changes in jurisdiction including the transfer of local and State Aid roadways <br />between the County and municipalities; and <br />WHEREAS, Hoyt Avenue (County State Aid Highway 56) from Snelling Avenue to <br />Hamline Avenue, and Roselawn Avenue (County State Aid Highway 26) from Fulham Street to <br />Cleveland Avenue, located in the City of Falcon Heights, are presently under the jurisdiction of <br />Ramsey County as County State Aid Highways; and <br />WHEREAS, These roadways have been determined to serve a local function only; and <br />WHEREAS, Revocation of "County State Aid Highway" status may be accomplished by <br />resolution of the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners pursuant to Minnesota Statutes <br />§ 162.02; and <br />WHEREAS,, It appears to the City Council of the City of Falcon Heights that the streets <br />hereinafter described upon turnback from Ramsey County should be designated Municipal State <br />Aid Streets under the provisions of Minnesota Law; and <br />• <br />111738 <br />
