Minutes <br />Parks and Recreation Commission <br />February 15th, 1995 <br />Present <br />Morrie Nicholson <br />Greg Scheafer <br />Steve Schugel <br />Carol Wiesberg <br />Nancy Wickhem -Chair and Secretary <br />Carol Kriegler -Parks and Recreation Director <br />John Hustad -Council Liaison <br />Absent <br />Jackie Benson <br />. Community Playroom <br />Carol Kriegler and Nancy Wickhem gave a report on the community <br />playroom open house held Saturday February 4th. Over 100 people <br />attended. Crafts and refreshments were offered and the St. Anthony police <br />visited. Feedback was very positive. The playroom has been operational for <br />1 1/2 weeks. <br />Falcon Heights School Site Improvement <br />Carol Kriegler updated the commission on the Falcon Heights school site <br />improvement. The schematic plan was approved by the site improvement <br />committee on February 6th, and it is now requested that the commission <br />approve it for recommendation to the city council. The proposal includes <br />hard court construction, play equipment, ball field reconstruction, as well <br />as some grading and excavation. The commission unanimously approved. <br />Curtiss Field Public Phone <br />At the request of a Falcon Heights resident, the commission re-addressed <br />the issue of a public phone at Curtiss Field. The phone was recently pulled <br />in an attempt to curb the vandalism and illegal and undesirable behavior <br />that was frequently occurring in the park. The resident was concerned that <br />the lack of an accessible phone presented asafety /security risk to persons <br />• using the park. Carol Kriegler compiled related newspaper articles and <br />
