Field Use Requests
Hoag introduced this item for discussion with the Commission based on
field request use from the North Suburban Soccer Association (NSSA).
NSSA has requested the use of the soccer field at Community Park for
the month of May, Monday through Thursday 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A general
discussion was had that talked about the impacts of parking, restroom
facilities and general open time for the public. It was discussed that
further study of a long term use of the field needed to be done. Staff will
monitor use of Community Park through -out the summer to try and
determine whether a use such as this will have an impact on the
public's use of the park. A motion was made by Dolan seconded by
Long to deny the request of NSSA for this season pending further
study. The motion passed.
d. School Playground Update
Hoag reported that he has been invited to participate in the playground
• selection process. School Principal Paul Charest has invited three
playground sales representatives to a meeting on February 28, 2005 to
present their proposals. Kuettel suggested calling Paul at the School to
find out more information about the process and the meeting.
e. Dead of Winter Event
Hoag reported that the event was a success. He also handed out a
budget summary sheet created by Ann Davy about the event.
Expenses were $831.54, Revenue was $210.25, total cost to the City is
$371.29.
