Meeting Date: 9/21 /94 <br />Agenda Item: D-4 <br />CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: '95 neighborhood park program and event planning. <br />SUBMITTED BY: Carol Kriegler, Parks and Recreation Director <br />REVIEWED BY; <br />EXPLANATION / SUMMARY: On August 22 an informal picnic supper was held far <br />"friends and neighbors" of Curtiss Field. It is estimated that~80 to 100 people were in <br />attendance. Proceeds were for the benefit of the TIME-IN playground program. <br />Contributions totaled about $240. Folks seemed to appreciate the opportunity to <br />participate in an event that was specific to their neighborhood or park. <br />As a result of this event, the Commission may want to explore possible informal <br />recreational events or programs targeted specifically for the "friends and neighbors" of <br />each of the City's parks. While the "TIlVIE-IN" program as it exists exactly at Curtiss <br />Field might not be appropriate for each of the other parks, some program elements might <br />be employed at other locations. Some thought might be given to how we might <br />compliment our existing programs and events with neighborhood based programming. <br />
