August 24, 1994
Dear Falcon Heights Community Park Neighbor:
The City of Falcon Heights is dedicated to providing recreation opportunities for its
residents and surrounding neighbors. The nature and variety of parks and recreational
facilities serve to meet the varied needs and interests of the community.
In the interest of being a good neighbor, the city's Parks and Recreation Commission
is conducting a survey to assist in determining the nuisance level related to late-night
activity on the tennis court and hard-court (basketball) at the Community Park. Over
the past several years, a handful of complaints have been received regarding annoying
late-night activity as well as some concern for tennis court spill-light shedding into
adjacent homes. It is hoped that the following survey will be helpful in defining any
problems and serve as a foundation for any potential change in policy. Currently,
tennis play is allowed 24 hours a day while the rest of the park is closed at 10:00
p.m.
It would be sincerely appreciated if you would take a few minutes of your time to
answer the following questions. Aself-addressed stamped envelope is enclosed for
your convenience in returning the survey. Please respond by September 12, 1994.
This issue will be addressed at the next Parks and Recreation Commission meeting,
held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, September 21 at the Falcon Heights City Hall. You are
welcome to attend. Thank you very much for your assistance in this matter.
1. Do you have any concern or complaint with the tennis court lighting or late-night
activity on the tennis court or hard-court?
Yes ^ No
If yes, please proceed by answering questions 2 through 5. If no, there is no need
to answer the questions that follow. Please use the enclosed envelope to return
the survey. Thank You.
2. TENNIS COURT LIGHTS
To what extent do the tennis court lights create spill-light that sheds into your
adjacent property causing an annoyance?
