Schwantes <br />G®raldine Jenkins <br />Councilman Black <br />ABSENT: Les Larsen <br />Rob®rt Blomberg <br /> <br />9 <br />,venue <br />Chairman Plant reviewed the Couneil minut®s of February 26, 1976, <br />at which time the Council moved that the request for a Conditional <br />Use Permit for establishing a veterinary hospital at 1660 North <br />• Snelling Avenue by Dr. David Silverman by ref®rred to the Board of <br />Health and th® Planning Commission before action by the Council. <br />Chairman Plant stated that the Board of Health met to discuss the <br />matter on March 1, 1976. It was the opinian of the Health Board <br />that the Zaning Ordinance (No. 6It) should be revised to allow this <br />type of operation and oth®r similar types of business in a B2 area, <br />providing prop®r conditions were met. <br />Dr. David Silverman, 163 Ninth Street, White Bear Lake, the applicant <br />for the Conditional Use Perr~3.t, read a statement describing his <br />background and outlining his plans for the proposed small a al <br />hospital. He also said he had verbal approval of the hospital from <br />three adjacent property owners/managers. <br />Member Ohman stated his only ob~ek~tion would be waste outside of <br />the building. He said he would like to see a back entrance used <br />rather than the front of the building. <br />Dr. Silverman said the waste would be cleaned up as soon as possible <br />in ord®r to keep the area clean and that he did not think a back <br />entranc® would be feasible. <br />Councilman Black noted that under the pres®nt ordinance a small <br />animal hospital is neither a permitted use nar s. conditional use, <br />as listed. He mentioned the ordinance (No. 6i~) would have to b® <br />amend®d to allow this type of us®. <br />.. ~,~~_ <br />
