Minutes <br />Planning Commission <br />March 8, 1976 <br />Page Two <br /> <br /> <br />Dr. Silvertan stated he would not be grooming dogs at the hospital. <br />Member Jenkins asked what the floor area size would be. Dr. Silver- <br />man replied there was approximately 1000 square feet of space. <br />K~'{ Koefel, representing the Businessmen's Association, stated he <br />would prefer written approval of neighboring businesses. <br />Member Yonan stated she saw no difference between housing of animals <br />in a small animal hospital, without out-side runs, and a pet shop. <br />Member Ohrnan said h® would prefer a free standing building and that <br />he was unaware of arXy hospitals located in common-walled buildings. <br />Dr. Silverman Warned some hospitals that were located in shopping <br />centers, etc. <br />Moved by Member Stone, seconded by Member Schwantes that the Planning <br />Commission recommend that the Council amend the Zoning Ordinance to <br />include the operation of a small animal hospital as a Conditional Use <br />in a B2 district. <br />Ro11 Ca11s <br />Plant Aye <br />Lammers Aye <br />Stone Aye <br />Ohman Aye <br />Yonan Aye <br />Schwantes Aye <br />Jenkins Aye <br />Ayes (7) Nays (0) <br /> <br />The Planning Commission afireed that Dr. Silverman should obtain <br />written approval of ad,~acent business owners. <br />Discussion of Rees Property Allen <br />At the meeting of the Planning Commission on February 17, 197b, <br />problems of traffic flow and snow removal from the alley mirth of <br />Larpenteur Avenue between Snelling and Arona had been discussed. <br />It was suggested that 'this alley be made a one-way alley from west <br />to east. Property owners abuttia~ the all®y were contacted to <br />attend the meeting this evening to discuss tta® issu®. <br />Thomas Deters, 15t~0 Crawford, stated he would not ha~r® access to <br />his garage if the alley went from west to east and that he would <br />not be able to store his boat in his garag® coming from the west. <br />Wayne Olson, 1532 Crawford, said his garag® faced east, that tae <br />could not enter from the west, and that he uses the east end of <br />the alley for both ingress and egress, <br /> <br />
