~ a <br /> <br />r~ <br />• <br />1 <br />r-- <br />` • <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCII, MEETING <br />FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA <br />FE~tUARY 26, 19 76 <br />A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was called <br />to order by Acting Manor Black at 7:00 p.m. <br />Acting Mayor Black, Councilmen Ecklund and Labalestra. Also <br />present were Cl®rk-Administrator Barnes. and Attorney K®nafick. <br />Manor Warkentien and Councilman Steele were expected to arriT~ <br />late. <br />PRESENT <br />ABSENT <br />Mot-ed by Councilman Ecklund, seconded by Councilman Labalestra APPROVAL OF <br />to approTe the Minutes of the regular meeting of Februa,x-~ 12, MINITTESs <br />1976, as corrected. Upon a cote being taken, the following FSB~tUAR7 12, <br />Toted "aye": Acting Mayor Black, Councilmen Ecklund and Labalestra, 1976 <br />and the following Toted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Steele arriTed at 7:06 p.m. <br />Darid SilTerman, 1631 Ninth Street, White Bear Lake, Minnesota, <br />has applied for a Conditional Use Permit to allow operation of a <br />small animal Teterinary hospital at 1662 North Snelling ATenue. <br />Discussion was held as to the proper >use of B2 zoned property <br />and if this would be allowed under present zoning regulations. <br />Councilman Steele felt this would be an appropriate kind of <br />business for the area. He also asked what type of change <br />would be necessary in the Ordinance in order to a11oW this type <br />of business. <br />Acting Mayor Slack said that, in his opinion, present zoning <br />regulations do not allow for this type of business operation. <br />Councilman Ecklund suggested that, due to the proximity of <br />restaurants to :the proposed location of the hospital, that the <br />matter be presented to the Board of Health for their considera- <br />tion. He also felt the ordinances should be updated. <br />Councilman Labalestra also stated he felt the ordinances should <br />be reTiewed and updated and that he would faTOr the establishment <br />of this t~rpe of Teterinary hospital, but in a free standing build- <br />ing . <br />Attorney Benefick stated the present ordinance coTering Conditional <br />Uses could be changed by amendment to include such businesses as <br />Teterinary hospitals. <br />DaTid SilTernan stated he did not feel his proposed hospital ~+ould <br />interfere with the food service operations located nearby.
