f _ ~~ <br />~~ <br />~/a y/ ~~ <br />MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />FALCON HEIGHTS, MINNESOTA <br />JANUARY 22, 1976 <br />i. <br />A regular meeting of the Falcon Heights City Council was .called <br />to order by Mayor Warkentien at 7:00 p.m. <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele, and PRESENT <br />Labalestra. Also present were Clerk-Administrator Barnes and <br />Attorney Ken®fick. <br />None. ABSENT <br />Moved by Councilman Labalestra, seconded by Councilman Ecklund APPROVAL OF <br />to approve the Minutes of the regular meeting of December 29, MINUTES: <br />1975, as corrected. Upon a vote being taken, the following voted DECENIDER 29, <br />"aye": Mayor Tr+arkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele, and 1975 <br />Labalestra, and the following voted "nay": None. Motion carried. <br />Moved by Councilman Steele, seconded by Councilman Black to APPROVAL OF <br />approve the Minutes of the regular meeting of January 8, 1976, MINUTES: <br />as corrected. Upon a vote b®ing taken, the following voted "aye": JANUARY 8, <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen 131ack, Steele, and Labalestra, and 1976 <br />the following abstained: Councilman Ecklund. Motion carried. <br />George Plant, Chairman of the Falcon Heights Planning Commission, DISCUSSION: <br />was present to discuss the functions of the commission. .FUNCTIONS OF <br /> PLANNING <br />Mr. Plant said the Planning Commission felt that the proposed C02~A'IISSION <br />Businessmen's Plan for the rezoning of Larpenteur Avenue should <br />not be termed "rezoning", but be termed a "concept". The Plan- <br />ning Commission also was of the opinion that Falcon Heights did <br />not ne®d more businesses on Larpenteur between Hemline and Cleve- <br />land Avenues at the present time. <br />Councilman Steele stated he felt the Commission should present <br />more facts for their recom~aAndations to Council so that the Council <br />would be better informed on issues brought before thew. <br />Mr. Plant suggested that pertinent details relating to raqu®sts <br />that come before the Commission be submitted to the members before <br />the night of their meetings, in order that they may become :Wore <br />familiar with these requests. <br />Councilman Ecklund said he felt requests should be investigated <br />thoroughly by the Commission before they wore presented to the <br />Council. <br />Attorney Kenefick noted that the Clerk-Administrator could refer <br />items to the Planning Commission without going to the Council <br />for their review first. <br /> <br />
