2 <br />• Discussion was held regarding problems the Commission was having <br />regarding meeting dates. Councilman Labalestra suggested setting <br />one date, perhaps the 15th of each month, as the meeting date. Mr. <br />Plant said he would poll the Commission on this suggestion. <br />The proposed Businessmen's Rezoning Plan for Larpenteur Avenue was <br />discussed. Councilman Steele stated he agreed that existing businesses <br />should try to improve the parking situation and also that the area <br />b® made more attractive and appealing, but that further expansion of <br />the business area should not be promoted at the present time. <br />Councilman Labalestra said that Dan Bucholtz, North S~,burban Area <br />Chamber of Commerce Vice President, was working with the 3usiness- <br />men's Association on plans for the area. <br />The Planning Commission was directed to work on plans for the <br />existing business area and also to communicate with the Business- <br />men's Association on this matter. <br />The Planning Commission reviewed the preliminary plat for the <br />Pothen Homesites Subdivision, ftoselawn and Hemline Avenues, sub- <br />mitted by Nick Pothen, 1877 North Hemline Avenue. The Planning <br />Coraeission recommended approval of the plat at its meeting of <br />January 20, 1976, sub3ect to the following requirements suggested <br />by the Ramsey County Plat Commission: <br />• 1. Approval of the Ramsey County Engineer for use of ~.3 feet <br />dedicated strip instead of 33 feet as shown on the plan; <br />2. Approval of the Register of Deeds. <br />The additional ten (10) feet is an easement for water and gas <br />installation. <br />APPROVAL OF <br />PRELIMINARY <br />PLAT: POTHEN'S <br />HOMESITES <br />Moved by Councilman Black, seconded by Councilman Ecklund to <br />accept ".the Planning Commission report as submitted recommending <br />approval of the preliminary plat for thr~ Pothen's Homesites <br />Subdivision. Upon a vote being taken, the following voted "aye": <br />Mayor Warkentien, Councilmen Black, Ecklund, Steele, and Labalestra, <br />and the following voted "nay" : None. I4otion carried. <br />rToved by Mayor Warkentien, seconded by Councilman Labalestra <br />that secretarial help be provided the Planning Commission as <br />needed at a cost not to exceed $25.00 per month, with actual <br />payment to be determined by the Clerk-Administrator. Upon a <br />vote being taken, the followir~ voted "aye": Mayor Warkentien, <br />Councilmen Black, Ecklund, and Labalestra, and the following <br />voted "nay": Councilman Steele. Motion carried. <br />Councilman Ecklund will be scheduling a meeting to organize the <br />Park Development Committee as soon as possible. Councilman <br />Ecklund also stated the !~-H Club will be planting a flower bed <br />on the northside of the Community Park and will need funding <br />for the seed bed.
