., <br />• <br />DRAFT OF ORDINANCE AMENDING <br />ORDINANCE NO. 64, ESTABLISHING <br />PLANNED DEVELOPMENT DISTRICTS. <br />1. Definitions. <br />"Original district" means a zoning district described <br />in this Ordinance other than a Planned. Development District. <br />2. Intent. <br />To allow a supplementary zoning district within an <br /> <br />original district. <br />3. Purpose. <br />a. To encourage a more creative and efficient <br />approach to the use of land; <br />• b. To allow a variety in the types of environment <br />.available to the people of the City of Falcon Heights; <br />c. To encourage more efficient allocation and main- <br />tenance of privately controlled open space in residential <br />developments through the distribution of overall density of <br />population and intensity of the land use where such. an arrange- <br />ment is desirable and feasible; <br />d. To provide the means for greater creativity and <br />flexibility in environmental design than is provided under. <br />the strict application of the zoning and subdivision ordinance <br />while at the same time preserving the health, safety, order, <br />convenience, prosperity, and general welfare of the City of <br />Falcon Heights and its inhabitants; <br />
