CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br /> Guidelines for Contributions <br /> The following guidelines were adopted by the city council on <br /> October 14, 1992 to evaluate eligible requests for funding. <br /> Guidelines: <br /> 1. Must be an intergovernmental service or project. <br /> 2. Contribution to be proportional to population. <br /> 3. Must be ongoing or be part of an ongoing effort with established <br /> goals and measurable results. <br /> 4. Must be something the city cannot accomplish by itself. <br /> 5. Must meet the legal requirements of promoting and ensuring <br /> the health, safety and welfare of Falcon Heights citizens. <br /> Staff will ask: <br /> 1. Does the project meet the criteria? <br /> 2. Is the city being asked for an ongoing donation? <br /> 3. Can the city offer some staff time and /or materials in lieu of <br /> a direct financial contribution? <br /> Procedures: <br /> 1. All persons requesting funds will be told about the criteria. <br /> They will also be told that the item is not in the city's <br /> budget and that any funds must come from elsewhere in the <br /> budget. <br /> 2. All requests will be on the council agenda. <br /> 3. Staff will inform those who do not meet the guidelines. <br /> These will appear on the agenda as administrative denials <br /> unless the party requesting the funding asks to be on the <br /> regular policy agenda. <br /> 4. All requests that meet the guidelines will be placed on the <br /> council agenda for consideration with as much information as <br /> possible including how many unbudgeted dollars for <br /> contributions allocated to date. <br /> 111 <br />
