Roseville Area Senior Program
1910 West County Road B Roseville, MN 55113
Telephone: (612) 633 3997
Serving Arden Hills, Falcon Heights, Lauderdale, Little Canada, Maplewood, Roseville and Shoreview
September 17, 1992
Ms. Susan Hoyt
City Manager
2077 West Tarpenteur
Falcon Heights, MN 55113
Dear Susan,
As Executive Director of the North Suburban Senior Council, Inc., co-
sponsor of the Roseville Area Senior Program, I am pleased to submit
this proposal and information packet for your review and submission
to the Falcon Heights City Council.
As a designated community focal point, as assigned by the Metropolitan
Council Area Agency on Aging, the Roseville Area Senior Program pro-
vides a comprehensive range of services and programs for senior citi-
l!) zens in this community. The enclosed packet includes detailed informa-
tion about each program area, but I do want to point out that the Senior
Program provides community -based services to residents in the school
district, extensive educational programming as well as social and
recreational activities.
The Roseville Area Senior Program's mission is to provide quality
services and programs to senior citizens. However, as with many
organizations, we are faced with increased demand for services and
programs while at the same time dealing with reductions from funding
sources to meet the needs. As the population continues to "age in
place" the demand for services and programs, especially those services
which enable more frail seniors to live independently in their homes,
will become greater.
According to the 1990 census data, there are approximately 930 senior
citizens 60 years of age and older living in Falcon Heights. Approx-
imately 260 seniors from Falcon Heights either participate in the
programs or utilize the services offered through the Roseville Area
Senior Program.
It is with a spirit of cooperation and collaboration that the North
Suburban Senior Countil Board of Directors submits this proposal re-
questing the City of Falcon Heights to consider providing financial
support for the Roseville Area Senior Program. We anticipate our
total funding needs to be in the range of $35,000 for this fiscal year.
Specifically we are requesting $3.50 per individual over the age of
North Suburban Senior Council, Inc. and Roseville Area Schools, Community Education
