A RESOLUTION REQUESTING PROPOSALS BE <br /> REQUESTED FOR SOLE SOURCE RECYCLING <br /> WHEREAS, the current recycling contract is due to expire <br /> in March of 1993; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Solid Waste Commission has met with all <br /> interested haulers to discuss their interest and capabilities in <br /> meeting the recycling needs of Falcon Heights; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Solid Waste Commission has held several <br /> meetings to review and evaluate recycling options; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Solid Waste Commission concludes that the <br /> current recycling program best meets the recycling needs of Falcon <br /> Heights; <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Falcon Heights Solid <br /> Waste Commission recommends that the city solicit proposals for <br /> sole source recycling. The commission is developing a request for <br /> proposal (RFP) for the Falcon Heights city council's consideration. <br /> Other items of discussion were: <br /> 1. The MPCA has granted Ramsey County a waiver from the ban <br /> on residential tree and shrub waste until August 1, 1993. <br /> Commercial recycling report from Waste Management <br /> questioned the negative tonnage on the report. <br /> 3. June residential recycling report can weights be given <br /> in pounds rather than tons? <br /> 4.
