MINUTES <br /> OCTOBER 28, 1992 <br /> PAGE 3 <br /> PRESENTATION BY CAPITOL COMMUNITY SERVICES <br /> John Giovannini, Executive Director, Capitol Community Services, <br /> gave a brief history of the organization and reviewed their <br /> present programs. He stressed the growing need for volunteers, <br /> cash, and donated food, furniture, etc. <br /> REQUEST FOR A CONTRIBUTION TO ROSEVILLE AREA SENIOR PROGRAM <br /> DEFERRED <br /> The item was deferred at the request of the North Suburban Senior <br /> Council. <br /> APPROVAL OF AGREEMENT WITH TRANSWORLD SYSTEMS FOR COLLECTION OF <br /> CERTAIN UNPAID AMBULANCE BILLS <br /> Accountant Tom Kelly informed council that the recently <br /> implemented computer software program for ambulance billing has <br /> been very successful in speeding up collections, however, there <br /> are still a number of uncollectibles. Kelly explained the <br /> procedure followed by Transworld Systems Collection Agency and <br /> recommended use of the agency for certain collections. Following <br /> a brief discussion Jacobs moved aprroval of an agreement with <br /> Transworld to collect on unpaid ambulance bills. Motion carried <br /> unanimously. <br /> PORTION OF CLEVELAND AVE. MEDIAN TO BE LANDSCAPED CITY TO <br /> ASSIST BY MAINTAINING THE AREA <br /> City Engineer Terry Maurer explained that Ramsey County has a 10 <br /> foot wide median boulevard on Cleveland Avenue which is not <br /> needed for a left turn lane. They would like to landscape the <br /> area, and has asked that the city maintain the area after <br /> landscaping which would include replacement of plantings, etc. as <br /> needed. Maurer has suggested low maintenance landscaping, <br /> perhaps paving block with openings for certain trees, and the <br /> county has verbally indicated that the plan is reasonable. Hoyt <br /> recommended that a landscape architect be consulted and explained <br /> that staff will be meeting with the county to discuss options. <br /> Council concurred with the concept after which Gibson Talbot <br /> moved approval of Resolution R- 92 -47. <br /> RESOLUTION R -92 -47 <br /> A RESOLUTION APPROVING ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO THE RAMSEY COUNTY <br /> COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br /> LEONARD, STREET AND DEINARD SELECTED AS CITY ATTORNEY AS OF <br /> JANUARY 1, 1993 <br />
