City of Falcon Heights <br /> Curbside Recycling Proposals <br /> Summary of Hauler Services <br /> January 7, 1993 <br /> E -Z RECYCLING: <br /> Advantages: <br /> a) Cost: E -Z has the lowest rates for comparable <br /> service of the 5 proposals submitted <br /> ($27,216 per year for semi monthly <br /> collections). <br /> b) Number of Collections: E -Z will collect materials either twice per <br /> month or weekly. <br /> c) Revenue /Loss Sharing: E -Z will guarantee the city a rebate of $175 <br /> per month ($2,100 per year) based on <br /> material sales. E -Z will not charge the <br /> city for unsold materials. <br /> Disadvantages: <br /> a) Experience: E -Z has served fewer households and has been <br /> in business less time than the other 4 <br /> bidders. 5 1/2 years experience. <br /> b) Material Depositories: E -Z maintains no storage facilities of its <br /> own, depending instead on material buyers <br /> and the Ramsey Co. Recycling Center operated <br /> by Supercycle. <br /> References: <br /> Generally favorable. Contacted references reported very prompt <br /> paperwork, and good customer service with few complaints. Some <br /> references noted that E -Z maintains a small office staff and exhibits <br /> less polish in its operations than larger firms, but did not report <br /> significant problems. <br /> A few examples of other cities served: <br /> Arden Hills, North St. Paul, New Brighton, some St. Paul <br /> districts <br />
