City of Falcon Heights <br /> Curbside Recycling Proposals <br /> Summary of Hauler Services <br /> January 7, 1993 <br /> SUPERCYCLE: <br /> Advantages: <br /> a) Products Collected: In addition to materials specified in the <br /> request, Supercycle will collect phone <br /> books, mail, household batteries, clothing <br /> and small household goods. <br /> b) Number of Collections: Supercycle will collect materials either <br /> twice per month or weekly. <br /> c) Revenue /Loss Sharing: For an additional .08 cents per household <br /> per month, Supercycle will rebate to the <br /> City 33% of all net revenue from material <br /> sales. Supercycle will not charge the City <br /> for unsold materials. <br /> Disadvantages: <br /> a) Cost: Supercycle had the second highest rates for <br /> comparable service of the 5 bids received <br /> ($33,730 per year for semi monthly <br /> collections) <br /> b) Missed Pickups: Supercycle guarantees return for missed <br /> pick -ups within 3 days, compared with 1 day <br /> for all other bidders. <br /> References: <br /> Favorable. Contacted references reported good customer service with <br /> very few complaints, excellent and prompt paperwork. <br /> A few examples of other cities served: <br /> St. Paul, Roseville, Shoreview, Fridley <br />
