SECTION 3. VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> 2- 3.01 -3.07 <br /> 2 -3.01 Establishment of a Volunteer Fire Department. <br /> The Falcon Heights volunteer fire department is hereby <br /> established to provide public safety education, fire <br /> prevention and fire suppression. <br /> A. Amendments to the Volunteer Fire Department Policies, <br /> Rules and Regulations. The city council may from time <br /> to time by resolution, amend any and all portion of the <br /> volunteer fire department's policies, rules and <br /> regulations. Such policies, rules and regulations <br /> shall become effective after approval of the council. <br /> B. Rules and Regulations. The members of the volunteer <br /> fire department, by a majority vote of the recorded <br /> membership, shall propose to the city administrator <br /> a written code of rules and regulations to control, <br /> manage and govern the department and to regulate its <br /> proceedings and business. Such rules and regulations <br /> shall not conflict with this section or future <br /> sections adopted by the city council. <br /> Such proposed rules and regulations, or any changes <br /> shall become effective only after approval by the <br /> council. Additional rules and regulations may be <br /> adopted by the council if required for proper operation <br /> of the department. <br /> C. Fire Service Agreements. The city council may enter <br /> into agreements with other communities for supplying <br /> emergency services to them and shall determine the <br /> rates and conditions under which such service shall be <br /> rendered. <br /> 2 -3.02 Uniform Fire Code <br /> The Uniform Fire Code, 1988 Edition, as promulgated by <br /> the International Conference of Building Officials <br /> and the Western Fire Chiefs Association, prescribes <br /> regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and <br /> property from fire or explosion, and is the official <br /> Fire Code for the city except for such portions as are <br /> modified or amended. A copy shall be available in the <br /> city offices. <br /> A. Amendments to the Uniform Fire Code. All amendments <br /> to the Uniform Fire Code as adopted by the Minnesota <br /> Department of Public Safety, State Fire Marshal's <br /> Division, are hereby adopted as amendments to and made <br /> a part of this section. <br /> 2 <br />
