Meeting Date: 3/10/93 <br /> Agenda Item: p 4 <br /> CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: Consideration of contract for design of audio <br /> and video upgrades for the city <br /> SUBMITTED BY: Susan Hoyt, City Administrator <br /> EXPLANATION /SUMMARY: <br /> Staff met with Mr. Bill Bruce to discuss a contract for designing <br /> the video and audio service for the city. Mr. Bruce recommended <br /> a contract with a set cap for service rather than working on the <br /> hourly rate of $35 /hour. After meeting with Jerry Skelly, to go <br /> over the existing system, Mr. Bruce submitted the attached <br /> contract for $1,550. He roughly anticipates the audio and video <br /> upgrade to cost between $20,000 and $25,000. Therefore, the <br /> contract is about 6 1/2% of the total project cost (including <br /> contract amount). The report from Mr. Bruce will itemize the <br /> equipment and give estimated costs to help the city to determine <br /> how to budget for future purchases. The contract provides for <br /> his review of specifications and overseeing the installation of <br /> the work. <br /> Staff recommends contracting with Mr. Bruce to provide technical <br /> expertise and oversight for the equipment. The supervision of <br /> the installation of equipment can be broken separately into an <br /> audio cost and video cost, if the systems are installed <br /> separately. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> A Contract proposal from Mr. Bill Bruce, dated 28 February 1993 <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> Approve contract with Mr. Bill Bruce for audio /visual equipment <br /> for $1,550.
