Maurer then reviewed the items discussed at the
neighborhood meeting and explained that a new 5 year improvement
plan is being prepared and he and Hoyt agreed that alleys should
be given top priority.
Council had a number of questions regarding storm drainage, what
type of alley reconstruction would be necessary, whether or not
it is necessary to reconstruct all of the alleys, and possible
city participation in the cost. It was determined that a
feasibility study was necessary to obtain answers to these
questions. Maurer estimated that the study would cost
apprxoximately $3,500. Gehrz moved that the engineer prepare a
feasibility study on the proposed alley project which carried
unanimously.
ADMINISTRATOR TO MEET WTH SCHOOL DISTRICT OFFICIALS REGARDING
CITY PARTICIPATION AND ASSESSMENT FOR EXTERIOR IMPROVEMENTS AT
FALCON HEIGHTS SCHOOL
Hoyt explained that in conjunction with the elementary school
remodeling there will be exterior improvements such as storm
sewer connections, sidewalks, lighting and construction and
repaving of parking lots.
