�t. <br /> A <br /> HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION <br /> October 19, 1993 <br /> MINUTES <br /> PRESENT: Groff, Johnson, Sheppard, Treadwell, Willems <br /> Discussed participation in the "Cultural Diversity Fair" at Rosedale in <br /> January. Some suggestions: <br /> 1. An information booth by our commission. Possible topics: <br /> a. What the Human Rights Commission does. <br /> b. Fair Housing <br /> c. ADA <br /> d. Changing demographics <br /> John Treadwell will check with foreign student organization at the University of <br /> Minnesota to see if we can make a presentation to their group to familiarize them with <br /> Human Rights Commissions. <br /> Ted Johnson has begun researching materials that we could suggest to the schools <br /> that would address issues of diversity. "Eye of the Storm" is a video that may be <br /> good (27 minutes long). <br /> Willems moved to approve minutes from September 21, 1993 meeting. Treadwell <br /> seconded motion. Minutes approved. <br /> Discussed having an open house at city hall with a film and speaker from the <br /> International Human Rights Group at the University. <br /> Ted Johnson and John Treadwell will meet with the principal of Falcon Heights <br /> elementary school to discuss possible activities with our commission. <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Wayne Groff, Chair <br />
