Staff recommends that the city continue to pursue this channel <br /> for reimbursement from the university, which has been very <br /> cooperative with both city assessments for the 1991 and 1993 <br /> street projects and with taking a sidewalk improvement on its own <br /> property as part of the 1993 street project. If the university is <br /> unable to proceed without an official assessment, then the city <br /> attorney can be consulted about what the city's authority is and <br /> what procedures are available for assessing these additional <br /> public improvements. This has not been necessary in the past. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> A Map of sidewalk replacement <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> Approve the additional sidewalk and curb and gutter work along <br /> Hoyt Avenue between Cleveland Avenue and Folwell Avenue that was <br /> constructed as part of the overall sidewalk and curb and gutter <br /> replacement along Hoyt Avenue. Direct the administrator to <br /> continue to work with the university to collect the assessable <br /> amount for this work. <br />
