Meeting Date: 10/13/93 <br /> Agenda Item: P 3 <br /> CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: Review and approval of the environmental' <br /> assessment and associated publication of <br /> notices of no significant impact and intent <br /> to release funds for the city's 1993 CDBG <br /> project <br /> SUBMITTED BY: Susan Hoyt, City Administrator <br /> EXPLANATION /SUMMARY: <br /> As part of the city's 1993 CDBG project, the acquisition of 2061 <br /> West Larpenteur Avenue, the city must prepare an environmental <br /> assessment on the property. Once a "finding of no significant <br /> impact" is made, the city must publish two notices. One notice <br /> states that there is a "finding of no significant impact" and the <br /> second is "an intent to release funds" for the federally funded <br /> project. The notices are published with a fifteen day period for <br /> public comment. <br /> Staff prepared the attached environmental assessment on the <br /> project. The assessment demonstrates that there is a finding of <br /> no significant impact and that the project conforms to the city's <br /> overall comprehensive plan and that the project will remove <br /> substandard housing, eliminate blight, eliminate a non conforming <br /> land use, improve the entrance to city hall and adjacent Hewlett <br /> Packard and provide additional green space in the city. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> A Environmental Assessment with a finding of no significant <br /> impact <br /> B Notices of "finding of no significant impact" and "intent to <br /> release funds" for publication <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> Approve the environmental assessment on the 1993 CDBG project for <br /> the acquisition of 2061 West Larpenteur Avenue and the <br /> publication of associated notices. <br />
