Attachment A <br /> PROPOSED JOB DESCRIPTION FOR ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT <br /> PLANNER WITH OVERSIGHT OF CLERK RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> The position of administrative assistant /city planner will report to the city <br /> administrator and will include the following job responsibilities. <br /> 1. Assist the administrator with analyzing, researching, writing and presenting <br /> information on city policy, contracts, personnel and other projects on an as <br /> needed basis. <br /> 2. Assist the administrator with responses to information requests and routine <br /> correspondence. <br /> 3. Represent the city at organizations and events as requested by the <br /> administrator. <br /> 4. Work with the administrator on planning related projects. Respond to <br /> planning requests including, but not limited to, variances, conditional use <br /> permits. Prepare planning commission agenda. Staff the planning <br /> commission. Work on an as needed basis with the planning consultant(s). <br /> 5. Act as the zoning administrator. <br /> 6. Oversee code compliance. Respond to citizen questions and complaints <br /> when they require a more complex response than can be provided by other <br /> staff. <br /> 7. Supervise the clerical staff, the RSVP volunteers, the contracted inspectors <br /> (building, plumbing and mechanical). <br /> 8. Coordinate activities with the city forester. <br /> 9. Coordinate office work through the clerical staff and staff assistance with <br /> the fire marshal. <br /> 10. Work with the finance director to coordinate city computer needs and <br /> expenditures. <br /> 11. Oversee city recordkeeping and licensing tasks. <br /> 12. Coordinate and initiate communication through all media. <br /> 13. Administer elections. <br />
