DRAFT <br /> City of Falcon Heights <br /> Request for Proposals for Police Service <br /> Commencing January 1, 1995 <br /> The City of Falcon Heights solicits a proposal for entering into a contract for the <br /> performance of police services. The city does not discriminate in the selection of <br /> contractors on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual <br /> orientation, age, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, or disability. <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> A. Purpose for requesting proposals. The City of Falcon Heights <br /> (hereinafter referred to as city or Falcon Heights) contract for police <br /> services terminates on January 1, 1995. The city is requesting <br /> proposals for police services on the basis of a two year or five year <br /> contract. <br /> B. Policing as part of all community services. The city views all aspects of <br /> policing as important to the community and as part of this proposal. <br /> Over the past few months, the city surveyed and met with residents, <br /> business persons and emergency personnel to determine what they want <br /> in their police service. The city found that people value the following: a <br /> A quick response to emergencies <br /> Teamwork with fire and rescue workers <br /> A visible patrol on neighborhood streets and playgrounds <br /> Easily accessible and friendly police personnel <br /> Partners in crime prevention activities <br /> A commitment to the community <br /> 2 <br />
