You can end your sale earlier than 4:00, but there must be NQ <br /> SALES BEFORE 9:00. Early sales are unfair to those who observe <br /> the established hours, and early shoppers may <br /> to the neighbors. <br /> 2. Make your sale as visible as possible with colorful signs, <br /> e <br /> balloons, and ribbons. Blue is the "oficil "b ccolor. Blueo <br /> balloons are available from City l f a <br /> signs or mailboxes. (Please do not attach signs or balloons to <br /> boulevard trees:) Major intersections will be marked and chaps <br /> will be distributed, but individual sale signs are important to <br /> draw shoppers down your street. <br /> 3. Consider combining your items with a friend's or neighbor's, <br /> both to ease traffic concerns and to share the workload so each <br /> of you can also visit other sales. <br /> 4. Be cosera of he Observe especially <br /> theauthorized starting time <br /> participating in the s <br /> of the sale. Watch for and report suspicious activity. Clean <br /> up promptly after your sale is done. If another event is <br /> planned at a nearby neighbor's house which may require street <br /> parking, consider moving your sale to a friend's or another <br /> neighbor's house. <br /> 5. Use common sense and ikeeprsafety in mind at all times to protect <br /> yourself and your <br /> a. Keep your house locked a in <br /> the bathroom, hike phone calls, (You or your children may want to sell refreshments as part <br /> of your sale.) <br /> b_ If your sale is in your garage, any removable items which <br /> are not for sale should be stored elsewhere, if possible, <br /> or should be locked, secured, and/or covereed. Als <br /> or protect removable valuables in your y e <br /> such as tools,_ toys, sports equipment, and ornaments. <br /> c. Keep your change and sale proceeds in a secure container <br /> such as a fanny pack or a locked box. <br /> d. Watch for "shoplifting Keep small sale items near the <br /> person running the sale. Also monitor sale items which are <br /> in boxes; people have been known to remove the item and <br /> leave the box to avoid suspicion. <br /> e. ased children t the <br /> danger of crossing the street between parked cars. <br />
