A
CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS
27 April 1994
PRESENTATIONS OF PROPOSALS FOR POLICE SERVICES
The purpose of the presentations this evening is to acquaint the
city council and members of the community with the policing
philosophy, style and service proposed for the City of Falcon
Heights by four proposers the City of St. Paul, St. Anthony
Village, the City of Roseville and Ramsey County.
The city's process for preparing it's request for proposals for
police service included reviewing comments received about
policing over the past four years, responses recorded in a citywide
survey and comments made by residents and business owners at
neighborhood meetings. This process identified six criteria as
important for policing in Falcon Heights. These are:
A quick response to emergencies
Teamwork with the fire and rescue workers
A visible patrol on neighborhood streets and
playgrounds
Easily accessible and friendly police personnel
Partners in crime prevention activity
A commitment to the community
The following pages summarize the responses to some of the key items
in the city's request for proposals from the four proposers. Not all
options for service by the individual providers appear in the summary.
