PI NPRINIMONEIROLICYMEEPOLNKIMPOUMEPOilerESPOUOVEMPOUCY <br /> Meeting Date: 4/13/94 <br /> Agenda Item: P 2 <br /> CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: Request for the solid waste commission to participate in the Project <br /> Childsafe car seat collection activities <br /> SUBMITTED BY: Solid Waste Commission <br /> EXPLANATION /SUMMARY: <br /> The solid waste commission is requesting council authorization for it to participate in the Project <br /> Childsafe program in conjunction with the Ramsey County Department of public health and other <br /> Ramsey County communities. The project is designed to recycle used, safe child carseats and to <br /> collect and dispose of used, unsafe child carseats. The project is funded by the National Highway <br /> Traffic Safety Administration. <br /> The commission is specifically requesting authorization for the following: <br /> 1. To participate in Project Childsafe <br /> 2. To conduct the car seat collection in conjunction with the annual Community Ice Cream <br /> Social. (The Park and Recreation Commission will receive a copy of this too.) <br /> 3. To approach the Falcon Heights /Lauderdale Lions Club for volunteers in collecting car seats <br /> and for funding to cover the $3.00 per car seat rebate. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> A Resolutions from solid waste commission <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> Authorize the solid waste commission to pursue activities associated with Project Childsafe. <br />
