Y <br /> Meeting Date: 3/23/94 <br /> Agenda Item: P 4 <br /> CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: Request for authorization to send the final notice of <br /> termination for the city's current police contract <br /> SUBMITTED BY: Susan Hoyt, City Administrator <br /> REVIEWED BY: Peter Bachman, City Attorney <br /> EXPLANATION /SUMMARY: <br /> On September 15, 1993 the council authorized the city administrator to send the city <br /> manager of the City of Roseville the preliminary notice of termination for the police <br /> services contract between the Cities of Falcon Heights and Roseville. The preliminary <br /> notice of termination stated that the city would be terminating its police contract on <br /> December 31, 1994. <br /> Since that time the City of Falcon Heights carried out a communitywide process to <br /> gather information for a request for proposals for police services starting on January <br /> 1, 1995. The City of Roseville received an RFP for police service on February 24, <br /> 1994. <br /> The city's current police services contract requires a final notice of termination notice <br /> be sent not before April 1, 1994 and no later than May 31, 1994. The city <br /> administrator is requesting authorization to send this notice of final termination so the <br /> city is able to negotiate a new police contract after proposals are received on April 8, <br /> 1994 to start on January 1, 1995. <br /> ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> Authorize the city administrator to send a final notice of termination for the police <br /> services contract with the City of Roseville as of December 31, 1994 at midnight. <br />
