POLICY POLICY POLICY POLICY POLICY POLICY POLICY POLICY POLICY POLICY
Meeting Date: 6/22/94
Agenda Item: P 6
CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION
ITEM DESCRIPTION: Committee appointments to the Ramsey County Strategic
Planning project
SUBMITTED BY: Susan Hoyt, City Administrator at the county's request
EXPLANATION /SUMMARY:
Ramsey County is beginning a six month strategic planning project effort in 16 areas
identified in the Ramsey County Charter (see attachment A). The county is requesting
that city's distribute the information to citizens and to appoint representatives to any
of the topical areas that may interest councilmembers, staff and residents. Eight
meeting dates and times are identified (attachment B). They are typically on
Thursdays from 4 to 7 PM. Five meetings are scheduled as of this date. Each
committee will schedule its own meetings. As staff understands it, the committee
membership is not limited in number or representation so anyone who is interested
can be on that committee.
The county has published this information. Staff mailed this press release to city
commissioners for their information and posted the notice on the city bulletin board.
The city administrator would like to serve on the human service delivery system
committee because she would like to help in finding ways to improve communications
between city and county in this area. Often the city staff is aware of situations that
require county assistance, but it is difficult to develop a relationship with the county
to find out what help is available and being used. I understand that there is no limit
to the number of city representatives on any committee.
The county board will appoint committee members recommended by the city council
and from volunteers.
ATTACHMENTS:
A Ramsey County Strategic Planning press release with committee assignments
B Meeting timetable
ACTION REQUESTED:
Sign up for a committee if interested and available
Appoint the administrator to the human service delivery system committee
