SENT S CO 3a s `''.O CONS
Meeting Date: 5/25/94
Agenda Item: C 4
CITY OF FALCON HEIGHTS
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION
ITEM DESCRIPTION: Park and city hall grounds weed control and
fertilization application service contracts
SUBMITTED BY: Carol Kriegler, Parks Recreation Director
EXPLANATION /SUMMARY: City park and grounds weed control and fertilization
applications have been done sparingly and on an "as needed basis" the past several
years. City hall grounds and Community Park have not had an application the past
two seasons and the abundant weeds are overwhelming and threatening desirable
grasses. Staff suggests entering into a service agreement for las spring and early fall
applications to control broadleaf and fertilize at each of the three city parks and city
hall grounds. Staff has received one quotation to date and two others are expected
prior to the council meeting (5/25). Based on the quotation received, costs for these
services will be as follows:
Community Park $1,657.14
Curtiss Field 234.30
University Grove 368.49
City Hall 325.89
These expenditures would come from the park maintenance and building and grounds
budgets.
ACTION REQUESTED: Authorization to enter into a weed control and fertilization application
application agreement for the city parks and city hall grounds.
'EN
