As a part of these policies, the city's <br /> contracted police department will conduct compliance checks of all tobacco vendors <br /> in the city. To cover the costs associated with licensing and compliance checks, staff <br /> proposed raising the tobacco license fee to $250.00 per year. This proposed license <br /> fee increase was included in the information sent to vendors but was inadvertently left <br /> out of the final ordinance changes that were made in August. <br /> If it is still the intent of the council to have license fees cover the costs of local <br /> enforcement of codes, it would be appropriate to formally raise the license fee at this <br /> time. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> A.
