RESIDENTS IN NORTHOME AREA
DECEMBER 14, 1994
PAGE FOUR
7. Will there be pavement placed between the edge of the alley and existing garages,
and what is going to be done with the power poles?
There will be a strip that will not have pavement adjacent to existing garages. The
power poles will remain as they are, with bituminous placed by hand to provide a
straight line of pavement.
8. When does the city anticipate reconstruction of the remaining alleys within the
Northome area?
The City currently expects to reconstruct the next group of alleys after both the
Larpenteur Avenue project is completed in 1996 -1997, and a City street project is
constructed in 1997 -1998. This schedule results in a 1998 -1999 construction
period.
9. How will the inverted crown affect plowing of the alleys?
The inverted crown will leave an inch or so of snow down the center of the alley.
Mid winter thaws will also cause ice to collect in the center, but the improved
grades will allow the water from the melted snow to run-off to the adjacent streets.
CJB:pd
o31- 0706.dec
