Avoid underground utilities <br /> (a) wiring <br /> (b) 9 feet from storm sewer <br /> (c) 9 feet from sanitary sewer <br /> (d) 5' from gas lines to the property <br /> (e) 10' from water lines to the property <br /> (f) avoid water mains if at all possible. If tree is planted <br /> on water side, it must be placed in such a position that <br /> it would not interfere with water line repair. <br /> 2. Avoid planting beneath overhead utilities. <br /> 3. Plant at least 15 -20 feet from street lights. <br /> 4. Plant at least 6 -10 feet from either side of stump /roots where <br /> trees have been removed because stumps take 7 years to rot out. <br /> 5. Plant at least 30 feet from old or new trees (private or <br /> public) for the types of trees the city presently plants <br /> because they bush out. <br /> 6. Plant at least 30 feet from intersections. <br /> 7. Plant at least 7 -8 feet from fire hydrants. <br /> 8. Plant at least 5 feet from driveways. <br /> *These guidelines may be adjusted on a case by case basis. Every <br /> effort will be made to replace all trees removed. <br /> 1 <br />
