City Council Minutes <br /> March 8, 1995 <br /> Page 3 <br /> Wallin is a member) to negotiate the terms of the next cable franchise <br /> agreement. <br /> Cable television is increasingly in competition with other types of emerging <br /> technologies, including video, voice, and data services. Representative Wallin <br /> urged the council to pass Resolution No. 95 -06 which essentially asks that <br /> lawmakers require all communications services utilizing public rights -of -way to <br /> be upheld to the same standards of regulation. <br /> Motion was made by Councilmember Gehrz to approve Resolution No. 95 -06. Motion <br /> passed unanimously. <br /> CITY INFORMATION AND ANNOUNCEMENTS <br /> Councilmember Hustad reported that the state legislature is considering bills related <br /> to the selling of tobacco to minors. Some of the legislation is similar to that which <br /> Falcon Heights has already passed. <br /> Administrator Hoyt noted miscellaneous city activities related to the coming of spring, <br /> including tree trimming, street sweeping, "alley walks new parking restrictions on <br /> Tatum Street, and the need to fix a leaky city hall roof. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> The meeting adjourned at 8:29 p.m. <br /> Tom Baldwin, Mayor <br /> Carla Asleson <br /> Recording Secretary <br />
