MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING PLANNING COMMISSION LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA APRIL 14, 2005 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 14th day of April, 2005 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. Vice Chair Tom Duray called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: PLANNING COMMISSION: Mr. Tom Duray Mr. Gary Rheaume Mr. Tom Wojcik Ms. Kathy Weihe Ms. Katie Socha ABSENT: ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Dan Knudsen Mr. Scott Barraclough Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner Mr. Brandon Rickert, Cable TV Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk MINUTES The February 10, 2005 Planning Commission minutes were approved as submitted. CUP rOR Mr. Carl Nelson, 762 LaBore Road, appeared before the Commission GARAGE - requesting a Conditional Use Permit to allow two garages (one 7G2 LABORE attached and one detached) on their property as well as allow total ROAD - garage space over 1,000 square feet. Nelson reported that there are NELSON currently two garages on the property, one of which will be replaced with the new garage. The garage that is being replaced is in tough shape and Che electrical system is unsafe. The garage will be used for the storage of vehicles and garden equipment. The new garage will be in the same location as the current garage. Nelson reported that his property is almost 2 acres in size. The new garage will be approximately 300 feet from the house and 130 feet from LaBore Road. The City Planner noted that the Code requires a special review for a garage proposed to be located closer to the street than the house. In this case, the property is quite large and the garage will be approximately 130 feet from the road.
