MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JUNE 16, 2005 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Planning <br />Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 16th day of <br />June, 2005 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Vice Chair Tom Duray called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Mr. Tom Duray <br />Mr. Scott Barraclough <br />Mr. Gary Rheaume <br />Mr. Tom Wojcik <br />Ms. Katie Socha <br />ABSENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Mr. Dan Knudsen <br />Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />PUD Mr. Ed Gorman, Women's Life Care Center, appeared before the <br />PERMIT - Commission requesting a PUD Permit to allow the operation of a social. <br />2870 MIDDLE service organization at the Market Square Town Offices. Gorman <br />STREET - reported on the history and mission of the Center, noting they have been <br />WOMEN'S in operation since 1982 and provide lay counseling and assistance to <br />LIFE CARE pregnant women. With regard to any parking concerns that the <br />CENTER Commission might have, Gorman indicated that they have been in their <br /> current location in North St. Paul for the past 22 years. The Center shares <br /> a 10-space parking lot with 4 other businesses, and there has never been a <br /> problem with parking. Gorman noted the limited hours that the Center is <br /> open with most of those hours at times that other businesses are closed. <br /> Gorman reported that he has reviewed the City Planner's report and is in <br /> agreement with it. <br />Duray noted that the Center has indicated there would be 4 to 8 cars on the <br />premises during its hours of operation. Gorman replied that that is typical. <br />He noted that board meetings are held once per month during the evening <br />hours. Parking for up to 8 cars would be required for board meetings. <br />Again, these meetings are held during the evening hours when other <br />businesses in the complex would likely be closed. Gorman noted that the <br />Center would be closed on Friday's, Saturday's, and Sunday's. <br />
