MINUTES PLANNING COMMISSION SEPTEMBER S, 2005 With regard to the CUP, Reeves reported that he has four company vehicles that he puts a great deal of miles on. He also would like to buy some damaged vehicles for repair and sale during times when the painting shop is slow. Given the State's limitation of five vehicles that can be sold at retail without a dealer's license, Reeves indicated that he would like to have a retail vehicle sales license. Reeves anticipated that he would sell 10 to 12 vehicles per year. The City Planner reviewed his report and noted that the Maaco building is approximately 7,000 square feet in size. The Code limitation of 10% of the building for indoor display area would accommodate only 2 or 3 vehicles. The State Retail Dealer's License requires display area for a minimum of 5 vehicles. Based on this as well as the other factors outlined in the his September 1" report, the City Planner recommended denial of the CUP. Reeves reported that after reviewing Che Planner's report, he would like to revise his application for a wholesale dealer's license rather Chan retail. The City Planner indicated that he would have to research the Code and the wholesale license requirements before he could comment on this change. It was suggested that Mr. Reeves meeC with the City Planner during his staff hours to review this change. Knudsen recommended tabling the CUP for accessory retail sales of used vehicles (indoor) until the October 13, 2005 Commission meeting and noting that Architectural Review is not necessary for the Maaco Auto Painting exterior improvements. Motion seconded by Duray. Motion carried 5 - 0. ADJOURN Duray recommended that the meeting be adjourned. Motion seconded by Socha. Motion carried 5 - 0.
