MINUTES OP' THE SPECIAL MEETING PLANNING COMMISSION LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA SEPTEMBER 15, 2005 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting of the Planning Commission of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 15th day of September, 2005 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 5] 5 Little Canada Road in said City. Chair Dan Knudsen called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and the following members of the Plamring Commission were present at roll call: PLANNING COMMISSION: Mr. Dan Knudsen Mr. Scott Barraclough Mr. Tom Duray Mr. Jon Hall Mr. Gary Rheaume ABSENT: ALSO PRESENT: Ms. Katie Socha Mr. Tom Wojcik Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk CUP TOR Mr. Ed Novak, 2875 Centerville Road, appeared before the Commission GARAGE - requesting a Conditional Use Permit to allow a second garage on his 2875 property as well as total garage space over 1,000 square feet CENTERVILLE (approximately 1,172 square feet). Novak indicated that he would ROAD - put the garage at the northwest corner of his lot, which backs up NOVAK against 35E. Novak indicated that he would use the garage for the storage of his boat and antique collection. He currently has two enclosed ri~ailers on his property that he uses for storage. Duray noted that the City Planner is recommending the elimination of Novak's storage shed. He also asked if there was any intended business use of this garage. Novak indicated that he would not use the garage for any business use. He indicated that he owns a restaurant in Highland Park and would store nothing on his property related to the business. Novak asked why he would have to eliminate the 10 by 12 storage shed. The City Planner indicated that as a condition for allowing garage space over 1,000 square feet, the City eliminates any existing small sheds for aesthetic reasons.
