MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
NOVEMBER 4, 2005
The City Planner indicated that the City does not require this type of
equipment to be enclosed. Knudsen stated that Mariani's concerns are so
noted, and suggested that he raise these concerns with the City Council.
Duray asked about requiring plantings along the 8 foot high portion of the
fence. The City Planner agreed that this would mitigate the hard wall look
of the fence. The Planner noted that the Commission can require
submission of a landscape plan for staff approval.
Mariani asked if fence height is determined at the grade level or patio
level. The Planner indicated Chat the height is measured from the grade
where it is constructed.
Duray recommended approval of the Conditional Use Permit allowing a
special purpose fence eight (8) feet in height to provide adequate patio
screening from neighboring properties as requested by Mr. David
Whitman, 353 Rose Lane, subject to compliance with the
recommendations of the City Planner, and subject to submission and
approval of a landscape plan for the area just outside the eight (8) foot
high portion of the fence.
Motion seconded by Rheaume.
Motion carried 6 - 1.
