Lee Elfering <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />IMPROVIJ'M1JN'T Mayor Blesener opened the Public Hearing to consider the <br />HEARING - improvement of County Road B-2 from Rice Street to Vilciug Drive <br />COUNTY by street reconstruction including concrete curb and gutter and <br />ROAD I3-2 drainage enhancements. <br />The City Engineer reviewed the project history for the County Road B-2 <br />project, including information ou the poor pavement condition, current <br />pavement width ranges from 46 feet to 5] i'eet, the fact that there is <br />existing watennain and sanitary sewer along the length of the road, and <br />that there is a minimal collection system in place for the storm sewer. <br />The Engineer then reviewed the proposed improvements which include <br />reconstruction of the street to a three-lane design with concrete curb and <br />gutter. 'I"he street is proposed as a A2-foot urban section with two through <br />lanes and a center turn lane. On-street parking will be eliminated. The <br />Engineer noted that the City is aware that on-street parking currently <br />occurs in the area of the school's ballfields as well as the apartment <br />complexes. A bituminous path or concrete sidewalk had been proposed <br />from ,Rice Street to the school property, however, there has been some <br />interest in the path extending to Viking Drive. The Engineer explained the <br />proposed street section and reported that B618 concrete curbing is <br />proposed along with concrete gutter and driveway aprons. Catch basins <br />would be installed to provide for drainage. <br />
